The Baker's Globe Mallow is a lovely rosy-purple flower with an unusual story: it grows in abundance after forest fire, covering scorched earth with its delicate beauty. Not only this, the seeds need exposure to fire in order to germinate. They lay dormant, waiting to be released, then emerge, sometimes by the millions, to blanket after-fire desolation with unmistakable, beautiful blooms.
